Kosovo

Kosovo is a landlocked country located in the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe. It declared independence from Serbia in 2008, although Serbia does not recognize its independence. The majority of the population in Kosovo is ethnic Albanian, with a small minority of Serbs and other ethnic groups. Pristina is the capital and largest city of Kosovo. The country has a complex history, including periods of Ottoman and Yugoslav rule, as well as a war in the late 1990s that led to NATO intervention.
