Iraq

Iraq, officially known as the Republic of Iraq, is a country located in the Middle East, bordered by Turkey to the north, Iran to the east, Kuwait to the southeast, Saudi Arabia to the south, Jordan to the southwest, and Syria to the west. It has a population of approximately 40 million people, with Baghdad as its capital and largest city.

Iraq has a long and rich history, with ancient civilizations such as the Babylonians, Assyrians, and Sumerians calling the region home. The country is known for its archaeological sites, including the ancient city of Babylon and the ziggurat of Ur.

In recent history, Iraq has faced significant challenges, including the Iran-Iraq War in the 1980s, the Gulf War in 1990-91, and the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003. The country has also experienced internal conflicts, sectarian violence, and the rise of extremist groups such as ISIS.
