Transnistria

Transnistria is a self-declared republic located in Eastern Europe, along the border between Moldova and Ukraine. It declared independence from Moldova in 1990, but its independence is not internationally recognized. The region is populated mostly by ethnic Russians and Ukrainians, and the majority of its inhabitants speak Russian as their first language. Transnistria is known for its separatist movement and ongoing conflict with Moldova.
